hi, just bought this car, Its a 150bhp version.

wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with upgrading the performance of this car.

I'm not looking to change the turbo.

also it doesn't pull/move much, there's something wrong somewhere, is there something i could do to check it out? There is no smoke coming out from the back so i guess that's a good sign.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you :)

With original turbo u can get max. 190-195hp out of it. Morelikely
what u get out is about 185hp/420nm. With automatic transmission
i suggest u forget the torque. ;)

Quattro + A6 + (maybe automatic trans?) = slow motion acceleration. ;)

If you are ready to upgrade the injectors you are ready to upgrade the turbo.

240 hp. +500 Nm.

Which nozzles would that be?

Remaping+nozzles+turbo brings you some powah, like TDIfreak said.
I'm doing that modification later on this year ... probably. ;)
First you need to change the turbo imho.

I can recommend also the new exaust from turbo to the end.
Original is great for big backpressure...atleast on A4. :|

With original nozzles you can get out about 210hp with(!) bigger
turbo. I know. ;)

Hi steve, what kind of pain?
Hi all the ones that i've seen done had problems with either the turbo or/and egr system....which provented them from having a good tune so make sure the car is in tip top condition first.

Biggest problem with these engines is that the camshafts wear out early and you're looking at a bloody expensive repair!

It's not "if" it happens but "when".....

I had one, but sold it early enough :)

It´s a GT2052V.

Use a Turbo from the 180hp V6 TDI like AKE or BDH.
A GT22 from T4 151hp AXG will also fit. This is my next Turbo for my V6 too.

The GT22 from Axg has almost the same 52mm compressor like GT2052V. So if you use it you will have no compressor upgrade in comparison to the stock V6 turbo.

You could use something of the lines of which Shadowmaker is using or has used in the past.........gt2360v gt2556v gt28v gt35v etc would all work on your V6 motor.

Ok, so all these turbos will just drop in and replace the original turbo with a direct fit and have an increase in performance.

1. A Turbo from the 180hp V6 TDI like AKE or BDH.
2. gt2360v gt2556v gt28v gt35v

I need no lag or very little, and all i will be doing in terms of upgrades is a turbo, nozzles and a remap.

Now which turbo would be best suited with which nozzles?

Are these turbos Ball bearing? VNT or wg?

If theres a direct replacement ic which will improve things, i might consider that also.

Thank you all for your help

None of these turbos is ball-bearing, all turbos with "V" in name are VNT turbos, and also none of these, mentioned under point 2 turbos are plug and play.

If you want a "mild" upgrade, you can make a hybrid out of your stock vnt20, with bigger compressor.

Also you must not forget the restiction of vp44 pump.

You can mod the pump for more flow plus use larger nozzles! i didn't know you wanted a "ball bearing" turbo be it W/G or VNT which you can get in both forms but if you wanted one as a vnt to fit you application and one that gives 260+hp you are talking £$£$£$'s.........along with a dp and other modifications you would have to make.......an easier way to go would be to buy a secondhand turbo from the 180hp motor and have that hybridised to give around 260hp.

It's the same turbo on 180hp/150hp.
You need 20/25v hybrid turbo and can get 250+ hp out of your engine.

Thats not good*g* Try to mount a 150hp compressor housing on a 180hp turbo.

It wont fit, the wheel design is different.

In the other way it will fit, but the different wheel design will cause a way to big gap between wheel and compressor housing.

You can also see this in different part numbers for compressor housing and comp. wheel.
