Used my VCDS, Passat TDI 2015, with 2306 Flash, 11,200 miles Engine, Advanced Measuring Values:

Block 632: Particle Filter: oil ash volume- 4.3 g
Block 637: Particle Filter ash load limit- 80.0g

Also, looked for the AdBlu level I think this is the correct block, although not totally accurate.( Dealer filled it at 10,000)

Block 677: Reducing agent fill level: 105%

So- at this rate, and AOTBE*, you should be good on that DPF until slightly over 200K miles.

Car will be long gone before 200,000. My extended warranty goes to 100,000. I don't want big expenses after that, so it goes. Hope VW is still in business then.

The company that made our second car (SAAB AB, car division) has been out of business for five years, and the car has 177K on it, but it's still a daily driver.

Reducing agent fill level is not an accurate representation of how much is in the tank. It's a simple (relatively) three level probe sensor that reports "enough," "low," and "empty."

jimbo1mcm: Thanks for the data point. I don't know if you've ever looked at the thread below. It's very informative, and shows c. 1g ash per1k miles driven. Your "snapshot" of ash load shows about 1/2 the average. The DPF ash sensors aren't linear (similar to the DEF fill level probe), so you won't really know the rate of ash buildup except over time.

I have a 2015 VW Passat TDI SEL Premium, and a Ross-Tech VCDS. And I know this thread is quite old. But could someone explain the steps one uses on a VCDS to get to these parameters? Also, I understand the 2015 ECU at least displays both oil ash volume (in liters) and mass (in grams), and there is a limit value that, once reached, trips some kind of maintenance light. The mass load limit is 80 g. What is the volume limit in liters? Of course, if I knew how to access, I would probably see all that in the VCDS output.

Help!

If I remember correctly, you click on Engine, then choose Advanced Measuring Values. Then you can select various parameters you will see on the right side of the screen, which also includes above parameters.

Thanks for the quick reply, tdi54. I actually did that, was more lucky as I didn't know yet how to navigate. When I got to the selections, I filtered by "oil ash". There were only two in there (Oil Ash Volume and Oil Ash Mass), both measurements of current level, but neither saying what the limits are. I was trying to find where my limits (like the 80 g for Oil Ash Mass Limit was shown by jimbo1mcm is). Maybe the limits are kept somewhere else?

Now that I look at jimbo1mcm's post, I see the limit names doesn't include oil, just ash load limit. I may have filtered what I was seeking out. I'll give it another shot.
