• The TDIClub classifieds section is a heavily trafficked section of the forum that encompasses want-to-buy (WTB) and for-sale (FS) threads for the entire world. Due to the demanding nature and fast pace of this section, it is imperative that you know and understand the rules. It is also important to remember that this is the only parts classifieds section.

Cross-posting and posting classifieds in the regional sections (except the dedicated thread in Ontario) is not permitted.

Multiple items should be sold in one thread. Make sure to provide a description for all items in your post along with pictures and prices. If you start multiple threads with individual items, they will be locked or combined at the discretion of the moderators.

Here is a quick outline of the classifieds section rules. If you don't follow these rules, you subject yourself to thread deletion, thread combination, infractions, or posting privilege revocation.

    Thread titles:
    • Put FS or WTB in your thread title. This will let other users know if you are selling or buying.
    • Briefly describe what you are selling. Thread titles have limited space. Be as descriptive, yet succinct, as possible.
    • Put your location in the title.
    • If space allows, put your price in the title

Title example (single item): "FS: 2004 Mk4/BEW cylinder head - Portland, OR - $500"
Title example (multiple items): "FS: MK6 fog lights, front bumper, headlights, grill - Detroit, MI"
Title example (car part-out): "FS: Mk3 Jetta parting out engine & interior - Dallas, TX"

    Thread text descriptions and pictures:
    • All for-sale threads must include pictures of the items that you are selling. One picture is sufficient, but multiple pictures with different angles will help buyers. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you don't know how to post pictures on TDIClub, see this thread: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=286691
    • All for-sale threads must include a description. We don't charge per-word, so be as descriptive as possible. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for buyers.
    • All for-sale threads must include a price. Auctions and bidding are not allowed. If you want to auction something off, use eBay.
No picture, no price, NO SALE!

    Thread maintenance/updates/bumps:
    • When you sell something, update your thread with "SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title.
    • If you have multiple items for sale, update your thread as each item has been sold. When everything has been sold, updated the thread with "ALL ITEMS SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title when all items have been sold.
    • If you bump your thread, please delete old bumps by clicking on EDIT and then deleting the old bump. This will reduce clutter in your thread and make it easier to read. It also makes you look less desperate.
    • If you drop your price, please update your first post in addition to posting the new price. If you would like the thread title changed, click on the report post icon and let a moderator know what you would like the title changed to.

    Moderator intervention and infraction points:
Moderators will be monitoring the classifieds section. If a moderator determines that you have not been following the rules listed above, corrections will be made and infraction points will be assessed to your account.

What is an infraction point? Simple - it's a system of keeping track of user behavior. A moderator can assign a point value based on the severity of the infraction, as well as an expiration date on the points assessed. If you accumulate a certain number of points, the system will auto-ban you for a predefined amount of time. The more points you accumulate, the longer your ban period will be.

One example of points is as follows: multiple threads will be combined into a single thread, with the number of infraction points assessed corresponding to the number of threads merged. If we merge four threads into one, then you will be assessed four points that expire in 30 days. When you reach five points, the system will auto-ban you for one day.*

*This is an example based on the current infraction system structure. We reserve the right to modify the infraction system at any time without notice or updates to this announcement.

Thank you for your cooperation, and good luck with your sales and searches! :)

I've used radar detectors since the original Fuzzbuster. While I haven't used every detector out there, this is the best detector I've ever had. Won't leave home without it.

Anyone know how well does this compare to Waze reported police?
I don't think they're comparable at all. Radar detector detects using a device trying to get your speed. Waze just says that they're supposed to be a police officer there.

I was kidding about asking on that. It's self reporting so it tends to be accurate for police activity. I am just wondering if anyone has actually had a chance to use both at the same time. However, I see there is some crowd sourcing in the Redline EX, "Escort Live connect to the Escort Live app on your smartphone and use Bluetooth to sync your Radar detector for crowd-sourced alerts and ticket prevention" Pretty cool merging of technologies.

The last time I had a radar detector (Escort) about 20 years ago, it would give so many false positives in town. It was quite annoying. Just wondering how much you can rely on one.

So this particular one will give some false positives but not too many. Then to add to it you can have it block it out once you have determined that it is not a police officer. As you update it more and more with escort live it also helps with that as well. Reason being is that you're uploading your false signals into their database just like everyone else is and then you're downloading it back down to your unit. My newer units have wifi-enabled and it does it on the Fly.

There has been a lot of upgrades from when you last used one. As far as how much I rely, I turn it on no matter what I do and it does very well for me as I run it. Escort and beltronics is synonymous they're the same company. And both I have had extremely good luck with.

As you know WAZE will only tell you that someone reported police activity. Not that they are using radar or that they are even still there. If they are using radar, this detector will let you know. I've had mine go off for a few miles before seeing the cop. Super long range in the right situation. As far as false positives, most were detecting X band in town. You can choose which bands to detect. Cops in most areas use only Ka band. If that is your case you can filter the others and get no false positives. I would double check your area first.
Using K and Ka bands you will get some false positives. Just the nature of the beast. You learn to ignore the ones you get in certain spots.
The newer cars are using the K band spectrum for lane departure warning, so you will get those false positives when you are next to them. Some newer detectors filter those, but you will spend $500 for one. Other than that last feature, this detector is tops in my opinion. It also detects red light cameras that are in it's database.

If had to choose between waze and the 9500ix, I’d go with the real thing with the 9500ix. I have 2 of them and use them in conjunction with waze, a pretty good combo. The 9500ix is a pretty nice unit.

waze isn't bad but escort live is out doing it. esp with the wifi enabled models. My other detectors are Bluetooth too so they up date from my phone on the fly but there is a little bit of a lag. the wifi models have almost no lag. you just have to have wifi in the car or a hotspot.

This 9500ix for $250 is by far the best bang for the buck. It works extremely well and it is versatile. the only reason I replaced it is so I can get the "new new". as my driving changes my requirements change, that is why I went with the redline ex this time. Undetectable, longest range out of them all. but it was also a $600 price tag.

people keep messaging me saying what they can get for it on ebay and offering me a ridicules low number. I know that I can get $250+ all day on ebay. i'm just lazy and don't want to pay the fees.

So someone brought to my attention that this radar detector is at Costco for 300 bucks. Before I placed this radar detector up for sale I looked at all of the possible sale sites and their prices. I want to point out one key difference. The one that I'm selling comes with the sticky cup. If you were to buy that sticky cup brand new it is roughly $40 shipped from the escort website. It is also going with it because the ones that I have now are all magnetic versus clip in.

Now anyone that has use the sticky cup versus the suction cups knows that there is a huge benefit to it as the suction cups will come off of the windshield during hot and cold Cycles where this will not.
