I've been asked many times about where to find a decent compression tester for the TDI.

The choices has been the cheap (and easily broken) Harbor Freight kit, and pricey testers that are aimed at professional mechanics.

Metalnerd to the rescue. Tool is priced so most can afford it. Made in USA.

I just received that compression tester on the Metalnerd site. It is a Star Products tool. If you were to go onto a Snap-On tool dealer truck and ask for a diesel compression gauge, either you'd get the one in the Snap-On catalog or the Star Products tool.

It's a good quality product made in Racine, WI. And Metalnerd sells it for a LOT cheaper than my Snap-On dealer would.
