If I have been driving for economy for a while and then need full power the engine almost stalls and then as I back off it runs rough and finally clears up. After this event I can call for full power, with a normal good response, but have a little less than full power at WOT position. It seems like an accumulation of oil gets sucked in. I've heard the IC stores this oil. The thing is my oil consumption is very low, like 1qt. per oil change. It seems like I would have to ream it almost every day to avoid this. I have heard of drilling a hole in the IC bottom as a constant drain. The engine has 80K and the turbo the same.
What gives??

Could be a buildup of oil from how many years you babied it.

I would pull the lower hose off the IC and see how much is in there.
Maybe pull it out and flush it out?

I don't think leaving an open hole in the IC will help mileage (boost leak) not to mention how much oil would be blown over the lower area there.
(I have thought about it.)

Air bubbles in the fuel line? When did you last change the fuel filter?
