I could use some help. My erg valve and exaust cooler were plugged causing the ch. engine light to come on and set egr code. after cleaning the valve and cooler I now have a bad surge at idle and on cruise but sets no codes..
any ideas

ya it holds vacuum.. seems like there is to much egr . I have plugged the line to the egr valve it runs perfect but it sets an egr low flow code now I have 85% egr command at idle

You can 'turn down' the EGR with your VCDS by adaptation. Search on that one.

EGR shouldn't be on so much it affects idle. Is the solenoid turning off? Do you have a vacuum gauge to check it?

if I unplug the wires the vacuum shuts off. I looked at the setting on the vcds didn't mess with it yet , I guess I can always put it back if the lower command doesn't help
