is there a hole in block to accept cam pin, about @ clock time @ 8:00 to 8:30 position

Make sure you take in consideration the the engine is tilted back.
It is around 8 oclock if the head was oriented parallel to the ground.

You don't need to buy a cam lock tool. Use a letter "A" (.234 inch) sized drill bit.

There are just too many to list....
In the head, yes. Sometimes I use a mirror to see in there to get it close before putting the pin in, and occasionally will have to rock the engine back and forth to get it in place. I lock the crank afterwards, because once the cam is locked, you can loosen the three bolts on the sprocket and rotate the engine slightly if necessary to get the crank tool in place.
