I'm trying to help a friend figure out a suspected electrical/remote lock issue on a 2003 Jetta TDI. The remote locks all 4 doors fine. It unlocks the driver's door fine with one press, and the trunk button works fine. It does not unlock the 3 passenger doors when pressed twice, however, though you can hear the driver's door try to unlock itself twice and the lights flash twice. You can, however, easily unlock the passenger doors via the central lock/unlock button on the drivers door. I've checked all the fuses that seem related to the central locking system, including 'convenience system' fuses. I could certainly have missed one, however, especially if it is not in the main panel. Any guesses why the remote would only only lock, but not unlock, the 3 passenger doors? It's not a huge deal, except that he has a family and it is much easier letting in the kids with the remote than to first open his door and use the door switch. The problem came out of the blue, and there don't seem to be any other electrical problems. He only has one remote, so he can't easily test to see if the problem is in the remote itself.
Thanks for any possible tips....
