Default need help in austin tx

im trying to do a 5th gear swap and dont have to tools to do its. would like some help or just the tools. either way no shops around here want to do help me out not sure how transmission shops stay open if they dont do transmission work. (i called all the shops in the area, they all said no) let me know if anyone down here can help. i have a 01 jetta tdi.

This is our guru. He may be able to help you out. Check the trusted mechanics thread first. You don't want just anyone working on your car. Especially tranny shops.

I'll give you a hand. I have a decent amount of tools and combined with the how-to, we can source anything we don't have. I'm always looking for a reason to buy some new tools. To be safe, we may want to do it here in my garage where the tools are. Its a major pain in the ass to pack everything up. Plus if I forgot something, one of us is out the cost of that tool.
