Looking for opinions, thoughts, feedback on whether to have the "Phase 2" modification done on my 2015 Jetta 2.0 L Gen3 TDI DSG with currently 25,000 miles before it reaches 40,000 miles or after 40,000 miles. If I have the modification done prior to 40,000 miles, the Settlement Manual states the "Diesel Oxidation Catalyst" will have to replaced a second time before it reaches 150,000 miles. Which of the two choices is the better?

In my opinion, getting this behind you and cashing in is the best choice. You have 137,000 miles or 8 years of worry-free driving ahead of you.

What chance? The deadlines are clearly published and absolute . . .
Waiting until the last possible mile in hopes that you'll squeeze just a little more pittance out of VW? I can't imagine what it's like to sit and stew over loss aversion. Get the fix, drive more, worry less.
