For a little while now I have been noticing extensive tire noise whenever I even slightly turn the wheel on my 02 Jetta to the right...The tire noise is more noticable at higher speeds. The car seems to track fine, no wobble in the steering wheel. I didn't notice anything until I my radio crapped out on me and I had nothing to listen to other than my tires. I am thinking maybe wheel bearing. If anybody could help me out before I call up Herm and have him order parts. Thanks.

I would check the wheel bearings, the left front is loaded more on a right turn. Jack up the car check for excesive play (any play) and you found your problem. Wheel bearings can be hard to find which wone is causing the noise however so good luck.

Hello,

I had the same problem("tire" noice),as already said, check for wheel play. looks like it's your wheel bearing(s)... in my case, the wheel play was due to both: wheel bearing & tie rod.
