P0299 code

Got a 03 Jetta that has got me baffled with a P0299 code. The car runs great then the boost is gone. Turn car off for a minute and then it’s back for awhile. This code only shows up when I have lost the boost and keep my foot in it. My father and I don’t think its the boost sensor but not 100% sure either. Thoughts on this?

Search for "limp mode".

Nothing to be baffled about. The turbocharger quits working. You just need to find out if the low boost condition is from a control side issue or from a boost leak. Pretty simple system really.

Yea, check for boost leaks; especially down by the IC.

did find the leak. it was a broken clamp at the I/C.
