Solenoid wire broken

Posted this in the Ontario forum, because I thought it was a dead starter, but..

Don't know if anyone's seen this before - got the battery and tray out, and pulled the solenoid connector off (conn 50), and it fell to the ground! Wire broken where it enters the connector!

Anybody know if I can buy one of these connectors with a wire coming off, so I can solder on a new one? Otherwise I will try to repair the one I have.

Thanks,
Jeff

yep, dealer wire and connector, about $15 for both. There is 3 wires available, get the thickest one, that's the one you have.

A *good* dealer story

Went to the Oaville VW dealer with connector in hand and they were able to disassemble the old wire out and provided me with a new wire for the connector, and gave me 30% off to boot! Woohoo! I can take the diesel down to Delaware tonight after all.

Merry Christmas to all.

Jeff

Edit: back on the road, Yay!
