All,
I would like to swap my BD ecu out of my 2000 manual tdi. I have found a CP ecu out of a 2001 automatic. I have researched what needs to be done and this is what i've come up with. Looking for any input on if this is correct or not?
From Ross-Tech wiki, ECM matching:
Prerequisites:
Battery voltage at least 12.5 V.
Immobilizer II ECM
[Select]
[17 - Instruments]
[Adaption - 10]
Leave channel at "00"
[Read]
[Save]
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]
[Exit]
Turn ignition OFF for 15 seconds. Start vehicle.
Recoding from automatic to manual, from forum member BobnOH:
VCDS settings.
Use vag-com and turn the key on. Go to
01-Engine
and change the soft coding from
0001 to 0002. Keyswitch to the off position immediately after. Clear all the fault codes,
after running the engine, no faults should return.
The reason why i am doing this is simply to try to mitigate my cars propensity towards slow down shudder. I've read that the BD ecu's may be more susceptible and my car does it alot. I've tried alot of other things and have read about all there is on the subject. I feel at this point it may be worth trying this out!
