Since day one, there has been a slight oil leak coming from where the oil return line connects to the vnt17. I didnt do the install, maybe thats why.. But any tips/procedure on how I can tighten this? How does this oil return line work, (as in the hardware for the nuts and flanges.) Lately it started leaking more oil so i want to get this fixed.

I just noticed that KERMA sells an ALH turbo retrofit kit which i did not purchase at the time because it didnt exsit. Could this be the reason for my oil leak as my GOLF is a 99.5? http://www.kermatdi.com/servlet/-strse-438/ALH-turbo-retrofit-kit/Detail

It is real easy to change. Just the nut at the bottom and two bolts on top. I have a 2002 so I didnt have to change anything. There is a gasket between the pipe and the turbo bottom is compresson fit.

yeah, two bolts, you need to be underneath really to see it clearly, simply use a 22mm spanner to remove the thread from the back of the engine block, and use the hex/8mm bolt to undo the two bolts on the return feed.

Paper gasket though so its good advice to put some gasket sealant also to ensure a god contact, it really should be a metal gasket there.
