Been off the forum for a while as I'd sold my 2004 black passat high line anyway the sale didn't happen so the car was dispatched to the body shop for 2 new front wings. Also in the mean time I've also bought a 2005 silver passat trend line which is one owner from new with a full service history. So far for it I've bought coil overs, a stubby ariel and a nice set of 18" BBS alloys........pictures to follow.

This mornings work....setting the FK coilovers to the final height....

Removal of the top arm pinch bolts took a while as the bolts had never been out before in 126K miles.....so the only solution was a bit of heat and a new set of top arms on both sides....

And as I had no new pinch bolts available I ended up doing this as a temporary measure.....

The next job is to get my black highline Passat back into my garage to finish the engine, sort out the brakes and get it back on the road hopefully with around 230whp....

Nice looking wheels. Are they RXs? Just picked up some RGRs for my passat.

There are just too many to list....
Looks good. I just lifted my B5V. Installed Rough Road suspension springs, and Bilstein HD struts. It is a 4mo, though.

Purchased an aftermarket window regulator kit for the passat......what a waste of time. Anyway an oem unit will be ordered tomorrow. Also fitted a ported inlet manifold and Allard EGR delete pipe, carried out an oil and filter change and fitted new wiper blades.

Fitted the oem regulator what a difference compared to the aftermarket one.

Also fitted a Tdi-tuning box to the car.....the increase in power is very linear making the car drive better.

Ordered a newmans pd camshaft for the car today. It has slightly more lift over the one i have fitted in my black passat. So it should provide a bit more power

My new PD cam....its a 9.5mm lift version compared to the old one of 9.31mm lift. This one will be fitted to the black Passat so that its 9.31mm cam can be sent back for repair, as there appears to be a small piece of chilled iron missing from the injector lobe. Then the returned 9.31mm lift version will be fitted to the silver Passat along with the uprated smic and hybrid turbo. I'm also looking to purchase a set of +80 DSSR nozzles from United Diesel to finish the engine off on the black passat.

Recently I've been spending time working on my black high line b5.5 estate refitting the gtb2260vk turbo and 9.5mm Newmans camshaft. So not much has been done on my daily silver B5.5 but it now needs a bit of work as the alternator belt tensioner has started to chatter and there is a small leak at the bottom of the rad. So both parts are on order to sort these issues. When I'm sorting these issues I'll fit the hybrid cr1756 turbo.

Been a while but so far I've been able to source an allroad front strut brace, new drivers side door frame trims as the existing ones have spots of corrosion and 2 new wings are to be fitted. Also had to fit a new alternator clutch pulley.

Complete set of StrongFlex bushings ordered for my silver passat to rebush the front suspension before this years Mot. Also hopefully I'll be ordering an Eibach 32mm front anti-roll bar for the car this month and then the rear beam will be braced to reduce roll at the rear.

Eibach anti-roll bar ordered so I've a bit of work now to do on the car for its annual mot test.

My wagon with its new wings. Also the car passed the annual mot after I fitted a complete front suspension arm kit and 2 new front tyres. just need to fit the Eibach front anti-roll bar now.

Eibach front anti-roll bar fitted and I've bought a new turbo feed pipe to fit the CR1756 hybrid I have.....work for me over the Christmas holidays.

[/IMG]

The CR1756 hybrid removed from my black Passat as it now has a gtb2260vk fitted.

Also ordered another cam from Newmans this time its a 9.7mm lift version.

My silver passat is turbo-less today as I'm fitting the CR1756 in the morning....

Following this picture I removed the down pipe cut a flap into the side of the cat and removed the cell so in the morning its being welded up again and refitted.

Fitted the CR1756 hybrid turbo yesterday and all went well until I went for a drive......no boost. Anyway I thought maybe the vac actuator was sticky, as the turbo has been sitting for about 18 months since I removed it from my other Passat. So I fitted my Mitty vac to check the actuator but movement on the vane rod was fine. So I checked the vac pipes and they all seemed to be ok except I noticed that the tandem pump vac line seemed to be a bit loose. Anyway I went for another drive and this time the brake pedal was solid. So it looks like a vacuum line is loose, off or split between the tandem pump and the servo. So this morning I'll check the pipework to see if anything is loose or split. Hopefully after that I'll get a drive with the cr1756 turbo running 100%.

The CR1756 runs a 56mm compressor with a clip back on the turbine wheel to minimise surge. Also the pad bearing is uprated.

Also the standard 1749va turbo that I removed has no play on the shaft and no oil around it whatsoever so I have a good spare.

The finished down pipe......not the best welding...

Downpipe and turbo installed along with a flexi oil feed pipe which I removed from my black Passat

The bulkhead rubber seal between the vacuum lines which I removed from the black Passat to replace the defective one on my silver car.

Fortunately I was able to take some parts of my black Passat which I'll be working on next as the 276 9.7mm lift cam has arrived for it.

Bought another ebay special short shifter for the Trendline. Previously fitted one to my Highline and it worked quite well.

One of the original pd cans I bought from Newmans wore prematurely. Anyway it took a while for me to get the cam returned for evaluation. However all has ended well as they are going to replace the cam for me with one of their 9.9mm versions. So it will be headed to my Highlines motor and the 9.7mm version which I got recently will go into the Trendline passat.

I've now ordered a set of OEM caliper hangers to enable me to fit 312mm discs to my B5.5 Passat. Its due a set of pads anyway as the brake light has just come on and the discs have seen better days. Given that the engine will have a bit more power (hopefully around 200whp) it needs the brakes to be improved. I'm also on the look out for a B6 rear axle with brakes as they are 255mm versus the standard 245mm ones on the B5.5. Not a big difference but it will help to get the car stopped.

Did your bulkhead seal disintegrate? And is that a dealer part? Mine fell apart when I was checking for cracks. Thanks for the photo.

what bushes does this replace? I would be interested in doing this to my A4 plus my dads A4 eats bushes as he is in and out of a quarry all the time with his car.

I fitted an Eibach front ARB to the silver trendlie car which has really tightened things up. I've also purchased an Allroad bottom brace for the car which I intend to fit next week.

Currently the car is running with a tuning box and boost controller which provides a lot more torque. At present the car has completed 167k miles and only uses a small amount of oil between services every 8k miles.

Its been a long time but work has started on the Passat Trendline again, as its been laid up following thee purchase of a new daily motor. This time I'm fitting StrongFlex rear beam mount poly bushings. The CR1756 hybrid is having a check over and new seals fitted and an uprated camshaft is being fitted. Also a set of refurbished 19" RS6 alloys are being fitted. Then I'll get a couple of pictures up.
