Good luck getting $6k.

I got my blue Golf for $3k. PNW car (no rust). About 10k miles more than your Golf, but it has an 11mm IP, DLC520s (very new) a Malone Stage 2 tune, a 6 spd transmission (newer suspension). Oh yeah, and newer Michelin X-ice tires on steelies. Maintained by a very competent TDI guy (on this forum): he installed the 6spd (has done several) and did all the other work.

Granted, my blue Golf was a great deal, but you're asking WAY too much. That your timing belt was changed is meaningless with some sort of metric behind it: clearly, with 196k miles on the car the original TB wouldn't still be on the car- for all anyone knows that TB could have 96k miles on it.

But... as long as folks keep looking to jack up prices on these things that only makes my collection of Golfs [apparently] worth that much more!:D MY 2000 Golf would clearly be a $10k car!

If you wash it up, and pep up your ad a bit more, I think that may be able to land your current asking prices of $3,700.
