Coming home /leaving home lights

I can't get them to work. It's enabled in the mfd screen at 30 sconds each.

The 09 i would bump the stalk, and have time to walk into house.

Or I could unlock with key fob and they would come on walking out to car.

This 15, leaving home is enabled, and all I get is the interior lights to come on, no headlights.

Ideas what I'm missing? Bad coding?

I believe you also need the headlight switch to be set to Auto

Neither 09 or this 15 car have "auto" on the headlight switch.

09 had off park on. Worked fine in off position.

iirc, for leaving home, you need the Auto switch AND a light sensor.

coming home, you don't need the switch/sensor

Explain how my 09 did this without a light sensor and without auto position on the headlight switch?

It did both.

Key off, Bump the stalk, 60 seconds.

Leaving the door of house, unlock with the fob, lights on for 60 seconds. All through vcds.

Only thing the light sensor gained was avoiding headlights turning on during daytime. Mine turned in all the time with key fob unlock.

your 09 has different control module design from the MK7.

also has different control module design from my B6, which only coming home worked (and I didn't need to flash the high beams to activate it), but leaving home did not work at all.

Have to investigate this. Odd I have the selection in the menu, but isn't working.

I might have to go through the light adaptation and assign roles?

According to the info I have, coming/leaving home is a feature on the Highline model only, so I am assuming is similar on the US SEL model. Also is a "convenience package" option on the SE/comfortline. OP, your profile says you have the "S" trim? Then that's why.

My 2015 has "auto" on the headlight switch.

I followed the instructions on link I posted. Works as intended. No auto position on switch or light sensor.

I have the lighting package on a 2015 SE and the lights remain on after I leave the car at night. I have the switch always in "auto" position.
