I just bought one yesterday for 25,200. Base 6MT sticker of 27875. I could have bought it for 24,200, but I elected the financing over the $1000 cash back. I got 3 online/true cars quotes in that range. I probably should have waited until October 1st (for the new months incentives.).
Bought mine in August from a local dealer. He beat all other deals. Including deals that I got from out of state dealers.
2014 JSW Base with DSG, with Monster mats, splash guards, Medi kit and rear cargo storage blocks. $28,940.00 sticker price. I put $2000.00 down. I financed $25,000.32 Out the door including $1555.32 tax $47.00 Govt fee and $165.00 doc fee.
Vyletel Volkswagen - Sterling Hts, MI. Mike Frank...good guy and super easy to deal with.
I'm not a shill for the product, but I went to a dealership that was "TrueCar Certified" to avoid having to negotiate near the end of August.
I ended up paying 26,300ish for a DSG TDI w/SunRoof, came with the Monster Mats, Medkit, and the Cargo Blocks. It was also during the VW "Turbocharged Sales Event" so they threw in $1k towards my downpayment as the instant rebate. All said and done after taxes/fees/rebates the price was the same as sticker, which was 28,500.
I suspect you can probably do even better as the end of year approaches.
Purchased last Monday, 10/6/14. Sportwagen TDI, DSG, Sunroof, no Nav. Monster Mats, wheel locks, first aid kit. MSRP $30,655. Paid $25,500 before tax, title, license.
Purchased TDI, DSG with Sunroof, no nav, for 27,100 (give or take, dont make me find the papers, I'm happy) last friday from Maund in Austin. Made them price match some dealers in Houston that were giving $3600 dealer incentives rather than the $3000 they were advertising in Austin. Everything offered around here includes monster mats, first aid kit, and cargo blox, this one also included wheel locks.
They appear to have tried to over charge for the base cargo bars -- $450 or thereabouts when they're listed on their own web site for $300 . We declined, and will assess getting roof bars later (maybe yakima whisper bars, seem highly favoured around here).
Happy with the interaction with sales staff, happy with the final price. Very happy with the car.
A few weeks ago, I picked up a new JSW TDI with 6 speed manual for 24,500$ MSRP was something like 27,707$. No sunroof - basic model. Price would have been 1000$ more if I had financed through VW - I went through the credit union instead.
Came with Monster Mats and 1st aid kit (seems to almost be standard). No wheel locks as best I can tell.
There wasn't much left in inventory - esp if you are looking for a stick shift. About the only choice I had was paint color, and getting that choice would have meant going to a different dealer.
