My Jetta has been a great TDI. It has 135K on it and I drove 90 miles daily. Over the last 5K the car now stumbles and hesitates a bit when I accelerate more than just lightly. It happens in any gear. While it use to eat big hills with delight, now it is having a hard time getting up the hill unless I just take it easy on the car. At normal driving speeds on the interstate is cruises just fine. If I pull out to pass, I start to get the stumbling again.

I have run diesel additives the last 3 tanks but see no improvement.

My mileage is right around 40mpg.

Have you changed your fuel filter? Turbo vanes stuck? Vacuum leak? Do you get a CEL? Just some ideas.

Haved you inspected the cam recently? My car had a stumble when under load when the cam was gone (it holed a lifter).
