Jetta Wagon hatch VW emblem removal

2003 Jetta Wagon 5-Speed in Tornado Red
On the wagons the key goes into the emblem, so I guess it’s not just a pry-off stick-on emblem. Can’t find a guide to removing the piece. I’m trying to vinyl wrap the hatch and would like to get under the emblem somewhat.

You have to take the interior panel off, then there's three torx screws that hold it on. Be careful not to break the linkage.

by chance would you have a pic of what it looks like after the emblem is removed .... are there any dips etc or are you just left with the key hole (I heard on some cars if you take the emblem off you have to deal with holes to fill and possibly recessed areas to address).

It is a somewhat different subject, but I removed the one on my Golf's hatch many years ago. There's a circular depression made for it. I'll bet the wagon's hatch has the same indent.
