Hello, VW Enthusiasts.
I have run into a small problem with my 2014 Passat SEL - about a month ago, I unlocked all car door with a fob and the rear right passenger door did not unlock, requiring me to reach through front passenger door to manually pull the inside handle and unlock. This again recurred this week on two occasions - the door would unlock normally initially but after a trip would fail to unlock again. Once I pull inside handle, door opens normally with outside handle or with inside handle. I thought enough was enough and broke down on a VCDS cable. Ran the test and besides the usual Telematics (car net) and Sirius XM errors, received the following:

For the last couple of days, the door has been unlocking fine with both the FOB, unlock button on door, or with A/T level put in P after a trip. Seems like the issue is quite intermittent, but very inconvenient when it happens upon passenger pick up and their inability to open the door. How likely is this that the latch assembly/actuator is going out? Before I spend $150 on a new part, do you think this is the likely culprit or do I need to test something else? Could it be some type of upstream issue - such as bad voltage to the actuator? Electrical is my weakest point in car repair. This is the part I think I need: 5k4 839 016 s - I can get it online for around $130. Doesn't appear too difficult to get to. What other testing recommendations would you all suggest?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
