MK2 golf TDI swap

Very intersted in the light weight of the car to help increase fuel economy especially with comuter car. Just wondering if any one knows about the dimensions of the motor in comparison to the engine bay of the golf. currently pricing motors but want to know where to start.

Do a search. G60ing started a DIY thread a while ago. The MKIII, B4, and MKIV TDI's can all bolt in, with some caveats (turbo clearance) MKIII is the most direct fit of the older TDIs.

Where are you pricing engines at? I have an idea for a project but need to find an engine... I'd prefer a TDI but I'd even look at a 1.9 TD or a 1.6td if it was cheap...
