Default FYI For Ontario Emissions and MKIV

I just passed my Ontario emissions test after failing the first time with my 2002 MKIV Golf GLS. This is the new test through the OBDII connector. I had some DTCs that were setting the MIL and fixed the issues and cleared the codes last night. This morning I drove it about 10km on city streets, maxing out at around 75km/h, with a few on/off cycles in there. It seems like that was enough to complete the drive cycle because the EGR monitor was ready after that, there were no DTCs and I passed the test.

My tuner has disabled the EGR on my Jetta and it failed the test. They need to see the egr cycling and storing some data. Just in case you think that can be 'hidden' it didn't work in my case.

Because he didn't fix the readiness monitors.. If he did, it would pass without issue.
