Jerk/hesitation

My local mechanic just replaced my N75 valve and the CEL came back on. I'm having a jerk/hesitation upon acceleration at around 40 MPH. I then go on to lose my turbo power, which I can get back by recycling the ignition. I have cleaned the MAF with the correct CRC cleaner. Lots of smoke sometimes when I accelerate.

What do you guys think?

Having been through this a few times over the miles, I think:

Must check the charge air path, look at the 90 degree hose, and the S hose very carefully for splits or holes--a tiny one could do this.

Check the vacuum circuit, it is simple in this car, small wear holes will make you limp.

If none of that, look at fueling with VagCom. Block 13 helpful, wide variance between cylinders points to cam/injector problems.
