You will be fine turning it in as is. I wouldn't put any parts in the trunk either. It's not like they would put them back on. Sell or donate them to someone who could use them.

The odds of their even noticing are approximately zero.

So it sounds like, from those who have responded, that VW/Audi look at the numbers and not the details and I should be fine. Thanks again.

I threw my dpf back in place but was missing a pipe that connected to the exhaust flap so I left that out and just welded the tailpipe to the back of dpf. I didn't want to risk trying the buyback with a loud exhaust and having "stripped the dpf" since stripping is forbidden. I left the tune installed so no CEL /MIL light. No issues and now I'm happily cruising my 370Z touring and getting the 81 rabbit pickup ready for winter!
