Why does the 10 amp fuse blow all the time?

I am now on my second 10 amp fuse that is responsible for the door lock, rear hatch, fuel tank lid, and "foot" light. Have just over 1000 miles. 3rd tank of fuel. What a joy, except for the fuse.........anyone else ever have this problem? Think the dealer can zoom in and nail this problem? Or is it a trial and error deal? The 1st fuse blew at 20 miles, thereabouts. The second one blew just short of 1100. Can one plug in the diagnostics and get the answer quickly? Thank you, and have a great Christmas season!

Your dealer should be able to find this fault. If the fuse is blowing, you most likely have a faulty component or a short circuit.

A good electrician should find it no problem, and that should also include the idiots at the vw garage,

Yeah, fuses are very dependable devices. If they do their job correctly they will blow. You can't continue to replace 'bad' fuses...

Thank you everyone's reply. Please look at the post above re: how long the wait is to see VW's service. Tsk tsk....
