Mounting them on golf austin 18 wheels. these wil replace the golf s 16 wheels.
Anyone here have experience with these tires? Hope the shocks are close enough to the sel specs for the ride not to be too harsh.

After much curb rash and puckering when I hit potholes on my wheels, I’ve finally decided that my next set of tires will be fatter than the stock 225/40-18.
I will go with either 235/45 or 225/50. (Lifted with Tiguan springs)

Even going 225/45 will provide some extra cushion without throwing your speedo out of whack and will fit in the wheel well just fine. I just saw a beetleRS the other day with 235/45-18.
Just my 2cents.

I have a set of the a/s 3 and the a/s 3+ and so far both have been great. They seem to stick well enough for all season tires, are quiet, no issues in the wet and while not preferred in winter they were predictable when it was yucky and fine when it was just cold and dry. No balance or out of round issues either, I'd buy them again if I needed an all season and wasn't trying to force them to be a winter tire.

I found pricing these tires was wildly different from different sources. As we know, tirerack prices are always high, about 170 or so, pep boys, with my account there was 129.99. We'll see if Michelin gives me the 70 bucks for buying 4.

next question: the a/s 3+ are load rated 92y and they look great on the austin wheels. Does anyone know from experience what the ideal pressures are for front and rear? It rarely has anyone other than me in it. I will try 36front and 34 rear as a starting point. The surprise was so far no increase in harshness over the stock s conti's. They feel much more stable and confidence inspiring above 75mph on back roads.
