Default Jeep Wrangler Will Come in Diesel Form

Jeep is promising a diesel Wrangler complete with start stop function, to go on sale in a years time. Jeep says that start/stop technology is good for a 3-5% improvement in fuel economy. Chrysler also promises the use of Fiat's diesel technology, but it's unknown if that means multiple diesel vehicles and the time lines for those engines.

A diesel Wrangler is already on sale in Australia. Why can't we get decent diesel powered vehicles here! Toyota has a cool looking diesel Hi-Lux pickup with solid axles on both ends for sale in Australia.
