I'm pretty new to VCDS, can i have some help deciphering this? I've been doing searches, looks like an EGT sensor took a dive. How does my DPF look? i can't make sense of the readings, when comparing to searches i've done.

Thanks for the help!

I have this issue, though it's a different sensor (Bank 1 sensor 2). Just look at the measuring blocks (108 is one, if I recall correctly) and ensure that your soot load isn't too high to perform a regen. If you need a regen, you can manually perform one. There are a few threads online for this, ones from here or myturbodiesel.com are reliable.

Get a new sensor (FCP Euro and IDParts have the best prices from my recent searching, I opted for FCP for the lifetime warranty at a difference of $8) and replace it yourself, save hundreds versus paying the dealer. There are DIY threads here and vids on Youtube as well.

Keep in mind there is an A and B sensor for these depending on the year of your car. If you have an A sensor, replace with another A sensor, likewise with the B version.

According to IDParts, that part is the match for my VIN. it's on order. thank you! If it is wrong i'll order other part. Are they color coded plugs?

Yeah there are a few colours, orange black and brown, as far as I know.

There are a number of threads on this site detailing your exact sensor and how to replace it. Give a good google search and I'm sure you'll find the info with ease.

My vcds readings. It'll need a regen after I replace the sensor I guess.

its a 17mm hex, will be snug, if you trim the little key off the plug you can pass the box end over the connector and get a real bite on the sensor. alternatively a flare nut wrench would work, I had trouble with a standard open end not ridged enough to get the sensor loose, (not that it means much these days, but it was a snap on wrench in good shape)

New sensor installed. Wiring buttoned up. Parts reinstalled (removed for access) New sensor reading correctly. Ran a manual regen. Now drives great again. Thanks everyone. TDIClub rocks
