Passat 5th gear ratio incorrect in Bentley

There has been some confusion about the 5th gear ratio in the B4 Passats. This chart (trans code "CTN") appears to confirm that B4 Passats have a .76 5th gear ratio vs. the .72 shown in Bentley . Bentley shows a CHA trans for the TDI, both my '96 and '97 use the CTN.

But even allowing for the different trans code, the final drive and 4th gear ratios in Bentley are incorrectly calculated. No suprise. Bentley is full of these kind of calculation/conversion/misprint errors.

Its on the top of the bell housing, in the center, to the left of the clutch slave cylinder

In that case your Bentley, even with erroneous ratios, is better than mine. I have information on the CCM, CHA, and CNL gear sets for the 02A, but no listing at all for the TDI CTN set in the "official" factory repair manual.
