I have a early 1996 Passat TDI wagon that is is need of a shifter boot. The later model boot I bought for a late '96 does not fit my car. It must be for a B4 and not a B5.
Thanks for any info.

Redline. I replaced both my ebrake and the shifter boot, new & leather very reasonably priced.

found mine on ebay from some guy in UK

I did the same. First one didn’t fit, and I told them what needed to change. They took my advice and sent me another and the fit was good.

I think it was under $20 shipped.

Was that for the B4 or a Mk3?

People should be aware that the Mk3 uses a shift boot with smaller base elastic and it won't work for B4 (or B3).

Mk4 shift boots will work for Mk3 but some are just a little too short in 1,3,5 positions, but they do work.
