Magnetic Drain Plug

Does anyone know where I can buy or how to make a magnetic drain plug for my 2000 Jetta TDI?

Magnetic Drain Plug: Item # 10.115.401K, $3.50 each.

They also sell the copper crush washers very cheap.

I put the magnetic drain plug on my car two years ago. I have yet to see any metal stuff stuck to it. It's alway just black with oil.

I doubt that a magnetic drain plug would do you any good unless your rings are crumbing to dust anyway. If you've got chunks of steel or iron floating around in your oil your engine is already toast! Most hypoid gearbox drain plugs are magnetic, since those kind of gears naturally "shed" steel as they wear. Iron particles coming from normal ring wear will be much too tiny to cause any damage, and are routinely flushed out of the engine when you drain the oil.
