HELP! Turbo squeal?!?

I have an 04 TDI Golf with 77k on the odometer. The car just recently started letting off white smoke (oil?) on start up...never smoked white or black on start up before. Now, when the motor is cold, at about 1800 rpm there is a high pitch squeal coming from behind the dash/radio...turbo location?

What should I do? Is there anyway to check if the turbo is dying? A seal that needs to be replaced? I have the extended warrenty...but I will have to de-mod the car to get it to the dealership...

did you have the bolts on your egr valve lately try tightening these up

I can try that. I will hopefully be getting the car on the ramps this weekend. What does it look like?
