Fog lights and interior lights not working. Bad BCM?

I have been having troubles with a loss of function for the fog lights and interior lights in my 2011 highline. The fog lights and some lighting went out all at once (window regulator and buttons on the RCD-510 don't light up). In some occurrences the kessy unlock/lock fails to open or close the doors. I'm checking here to see if anyone else has had this happen to them and to see if I should be able to pinpoint the root cause of the issue without spending endless hours on diagnosis.

Dealer fix: replaced rusted trunk lid under warranty and changed out corroded rear plate light sockets. This had caused the circuit to trip.

So it goes, the rear plate lights are on the same bloody circuit as all the interior door lights and fog lights....
