507 Oil in Non-TDI?

Probably a dumb question, but my '09 TDI should be a goner by next week replaced by a 1.4T. I have a lot of 507 oil left over. Is that OK to use in the 2017 VW Jetta 1.4T?
Thanks.

If you have a burning desire to know, call up your dealers parts department. The owners manual for your 1.4 when you get it will tell you as well.

Doing a Google search, it appears that the 1.4 gasser uses 502.00 oil.

When you purchase your car, the parts department might trade you straight across for the correct oil providing it is unopened and the same brand they sell.

The VW507 oil is also usually rated for VW504 - which is for gassers. So, you probably should be able to use it in your new VW.

Yup, just looked at some 507.00 oil I bought for our no longer here Jetta TDI, and it says VW 507.00/VW 504.00, so it looks like I didn't waste money buying it and will use it in our Golf gasser. I'd be willing to bet real money that the oil spec for the 1.4T is the same as for the 1.8T.

Broadly speaking, the 504.00 standard is being used in the rest of the world for gas engines.
