VCDS trouble after emission fix

Just got the emission fix one on my Passat TDI.

Tried to get into the engine with VCDS and I can access anything except fault codes. I'm using version 12 of VCDS.

Any other ideas or are we locked out by VW now?

3 questions:

1) You "can access anything except fault codes" or you "can't access anything except fault codes"?
2) Is there a reason why you are still running an old version of VCDS? The current version is 17.8. This may (or may not) make a difference.
3) Does it list a label file for your engine controller or does it say "none"?

Every time I fire up VCDS there seems to be an update and wants to force it. Don't resist updates!

Any follow up on this?
