I have 06 Jetta tdi with a dsg trans. A few weeks ago I started my car and was idleing for about a half hour and total just died. I tried to start it but wouldn’t turn over. It has a new battery new stater and the timing belt was replaced about 30,000 miles ago. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks

when you turn the key to start it, does nothing happen or you feel starter engage but the engine wont turn like its froze up?? Two completely different directions to start looking.

For a 2006 this is the one of the no crank threads,

copy and past link. Also go to related no crank thread links in thread.

There are just too many to list....
LOL, why would you have the engine idling for a half an hour??? :p

Anyway, this is a no-crank condition? Have you tried checking for power on the crank wire at the starter?

Have you tried manually turning the engine over with a wrench at the crankshaft?
