Right,

my 110 tdi is going in next monday to have a PD130 garret turbo fitted along with injector nozzles from a t4 150bhp van, my current mods are modded airbox with panel filter, 150 pipework from airbox to turbo, 150egr manifold and egr delete pipe, straight through exhaust 2.5", i also have a uprated clutch rated to 300ft lb, i will be getting a fmic next month, but running with a side mount atm, what do people think i will hit roughly so i can look forward to it lol

With no remap or added boost mentioned, the turbo will net you next to nothing. Ditto the airbox, pipework and manifold. You may get a wee something from the exhaust, but by far the biggest gains will come from the injectors. Basically, what you will end up having is a 4/5 scale of the T4 150 engine, so I'd put it at 120-125 HP if the original engine was completely stock to begin with.

im having it mapped to suit aswell, a vw specialist tuning place near me are doing it, so it will be mapped and the boost will be at what a normal 130 garret runs at, 1.6 bar boost

on a 110 id say about 170bhp just going mainly on the turbo and injectors i would expect much more than that as i know someone who has a very similar set up on a 110 but with a vb turbo and managed 181bhp and 300ftlbs of tourque (he also had fmic)

A PD130 turbo is kind of like a half upgrade. The compressor is a bit larger but the turbine is almost the same. Why not upgrade to at least the PD150 turbo?

yeah if i go for a bigger turbo at some stage i would be going for the vb rather than the va unless someone gave me a free one in great condition .:D
i was talking bhp not whp when i said 170 and with all his other mods and fmic on i though he should be around that figure i know i have 156.7bhp just from stock turbo kerma tune and pp520s

anyway i need to be optimistic with twins on the way:rolleyes:

see, you have 156bhp from stock, a bigger turbo and larger nozzles for me should easily see another 15-20bhp,, what do you rekon for my torque wise mate?

well i didnt get tourque figures when mine was dynoed but my mates 300ftlbs was good figures for even a fmic vb turbo and t4 injectors. so i think expect around 270-280 ftlbs. obvoiusly you just want a rough idea im sure you know that cars all give different figures with even the same mods. its certainly not an exact science guessing bhp numbers more like a lottery in my experience. but hopefully it will all go well let me know what numbers you do get it all helps the next time someone asks:D

imho arround 155 hp all you can get from your setup...also the pd131 turbocharger runs at arround 1.35 bars in a stock pd131...1.6 bars is a bit too much for the longevity of that turbo. If you wanna hit 160-170 4 sure use a 11 or a 12mm pump head or a lift pump. And get a decent tune without smoke(egt under 700 C) so the turbo will last as long as possible.

and the rest, the place that have just done a 110tdi ibiza had a pd150 turbo and bigger nozzles and it got 186bhp and 272ftlb, so aint got a clue where you got 155, also 1.6 bar is the normal for a remapped 130 turbo ;)

i think its like i said before we are quoting bhp figure as thats what most of our rolling roads still use in the uk , where as mainly on this forum they talk in whp which gets everybody getting confused on here i think including me sometimes
so when he says 155hp he means at the wheels which relates to about 180 at the fly which is very very optimistic with a va hope this clears up some of the confusion:)

now i get ya lol, i was gonna say at the fly, no way lol, 155bhp at the wheels i agree now lol, but for example all cars are different, i may have 180bhp at the fly and 155bhp at the wheels, someone else may only have 175bhp at the fly and 162bhp at the wheels, they may not loose as much through transmission as i do

You cant have Bhp at the wheels. The B means BREAK horse power. Whp is WHEEL horse power. So if you say bhp then its the power of engine, not at wheels.

With stock injection pump and your discribed setup you will see about 160bhp if you want to keep healthy injection timing. This will be about 135-140 whp.

Also the OP didnt mention which car he has. In a Rabbit MK3 a VB which comes incl. manifold wont fit. Only VA from longitudal engines.
You can make 1.8bar with VA, if you reduce boost early enough in rpm range again.

Greets, Alex
