Default 2010 vs 2011

Is waiting for a 2011 Touareg a good idea or go with a 2010? When should the 11's be hitting the dealerships?

It depends on the purpose.

I prefer current generation to the new one for its real off-road features, but the '11 will get e.g. 8-speed tranny and rns-810.

2011s are already being delivered.

The 810 is the new nav/info system. http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/t...ying-guide.htm See this guide on my site for tons of info that you won't find in car reviews and differences in the 10-11.

The 810 is pretty cool. Has 3D buildings on the Nav. Can be a little confusing in big cities though. I like the dual SD cards and being able to store them on the hard drive. I went to a training class last week where they had three of them, including a TDI. We have three that have been showing "loaded on truck" for a week now, must be slowest driver on east coast!

I'm in full agreement with malooshek. I saw my first 2011 two days ago. If most of your driving is highway, suburbs, with light off-road, mud and snow, it should suit you well. While a nice looking vehicle, I still prefer the look of the 2010. I feel that it looks "meaner" and more trucklike. But of course, that is purely subjective.

X3!

And until A/S in an option in NA, you won't see any of the next gen.'s looking like this

Because the Hybrid will so be worth the price it cost.

See my post:

The 2010 is not really different from the 2009 that we had.
