Read an article in our electric coop's monthly magazine about a couple who have a $100k Tesla they really love, and mentioned the Tesla recharging stations in Montana. They're all along I-90 the farthest east one is in Billings which means that Nord Dakoda would be too far for that one, and the farthest west being in Butte I think, which means that it'd be touch and go to get to Missoula. They say they're driven to NV in it, and indicate that they apparently need frequent stops so recharging is not a big deal.

Firstly we can't afford a $100k car, and having to stop for half an hour (for a 70 or 80% charge) seems unreasonable to me. Most places in Montana are more than 200 miles apart, and twiddling my thumbs for half an hour to go another 170 or 180 miles seems silly to me. For around town and short trips an electric car may be fine, but for road travel they need to be improved A LOT especially west of Bismark, ND.

We do have electricity all over the state though, well mostly anyway, :D
