Has a consensus emerged on whether the heater core problems in a Gen2 (2013) Passat with G13 factory coolant are going to recur with G13 coolant after the heater core is replaced? Is a changeover of the coolant to G12+ coolant necessary for longevity of the heater core?
I just had a heater core replaced at 27,000 miles, about 6,000 miles after the emissions modification was done, and the dealer refilled the system with G13. I do not want to have to replace the core again in another year or two.
There are a lot of discussions back and forth on this issue in many other heater core threads but I cannot find a definitive answer one way or another.
