auto dimming mirror

I want to add an auto dimming mirror to my golf mk 4 i have the one out of a bora sport and have modified the stem on it so i can fix it to the window,i dont want the rain sensor on it so want to know if i can just wire the dimming mirror up? If so where do the wires need to go?Cheers in advance.

One goes to ground, one goes to switched positive and one to the backup switch or backup lights. I followed the instructions in this How To:

You need to change the windshield.
