All renault 1,9 dti models look at the 6 number in the bosch pump number it tells you wath pumpsize is inside 0 (10mm) 1 ( 11mm) 2 ( 12mm)

I have modded 11mm pump. rotor is from renault, caplate from vw 10mm, all of ths work fine with race520 for now. But then need to increase pressure in the pump... 15minutes job to do.

Is there something like a limit of bhp for the 10mm/11mm IP that they are good for?

I'm asking because I am targeting about 160bhp with .240mm firad nozzles and I hope that I'll keep the stock IP (10mm).
Mine was coming up at 176bhp with the PP764's, 10mm pump and stock turbo, worked out going by the weight of the car and time when doing logs though it was more like 165bhp but still good. Your nozzles are bigger so should go further with the VA turbo.

If you find it's a bit smokey when really on it an additive like diesel rhino really helps, it raises the cetane level amongst other things and certainly made a big difference to mine. Turbo was at 18.5psi so was a bit maxed to add more boost.

Rather than start a new thread I will revive this old one. I’ve been researching on 12mm IP and don’t seem to find much info on fitting a 12mm head into a 11mm pump or even a good place to just buy a new 12mm. Anyone dip into this realm?

mine's an aliexpress 1 468 334 475
pretty much just look for one described as 4/12R as in cyls/mm,rotation

not that I'd really bother as they're very flaky above 5500rpm, you're much better off with the 11mm/de143 and being able to turn 7k

my current pump is 12mm/de110 (which is the lower lift camplate from the 10mm alh)
I've siezed one pump head so far, but that was with tiny little pp764 nozzles at only like 4k RPM
I'm kind of hesitant to push it too far in the revs now, because of all the failures the europeans have had in the 12mm pump heads even with reasonably sized (.320-.360) nozzles and good bosch and zexel heads.

iirc even if it can survive the peak injection pressures you also run into outrunning the transfer pump and losing case pressure (and therefore losing the ability to fill the element with fuel 4x per pump revolution)

One of those "well, I can make nearly 400hp with the stock 11mm pump, why bother blazing a trail on my own?" sorts of deals

I have .460 gibonta nozzles and I would like to make sure my pump will fuel them enough. I Have a 11mm on it now but I don’t think that’s going to be enough to utilize those nozzles. The engine is bulletproof already and I’m using a gtb2260. My goal was for around 320/340hp with the fully built engine.

Personally I would run a 0.320mm with 11mm with that 2260, I don't think a 2260 is going to make much over 300bhp before it runs out of steam on a ALH. Do you have someone to tune it? Builds like that can be a trick to get dialed in.

When I first started the build I was going for 300hp. It’s been a long process and was thinking I could get more down the road. When it’s complete enough for a tune I’m going to make an appointment with rocket chip and trailer it to jeff. Most of my advice for this build was from darkside. They helped me a lot when I came to the engine rebuilt and sourcing all the supporting parts. Down the line I’ll probably want to make more and I know the 2260 won’t be big enough. Whatever info/advice anyone has will help!

I’m very scatter brained with this whole project. If I knew how to upload pics I’d show all the progress I’ve made. Nothing like buying a $2000 car and putting $6000 in it.

For a 12mm *VE* mechanical pump, 4x .014 holes is a small injector. It is capable of delivering enough fuel to 1L/pot engines that turbocharger upgrades are needed.

I went and spent a small fortune and got a set of nozzles custom made, approximately 0.330m orifice along with some other mods. I'm going to test them in my daily to see how easy it is to control smoke, then they will be going into a better built engine to see how much power can be made with them.

a 4bt will survive 1k ft/lb without too much work
1.9/2.0 tdi starts falling apart bad at 500 ft/lb no matter what you do
thus the requirement for more RPM to get actual power out of our engines

Bigger pump won’t give gains as such on a dyno but you do notice the difference
Biggest part is upper part of the Rev range where smaller pump struggled to deliver
11mm head meant power didn’t drop off as before ,
I really don’t think 12mm will see any better gains over 11mm for relatively small
17/22 set up and the timing will be harder to get right
The garage tried to set my 11mm pump up manually but got no where near
Wasn’t until I fine tuned it with vagcom I got it just right

10mm will support +300crank
11mm ~400 crank
12mm the same ~~>400 crank, because it will just grenade after that.
