2006 volkswagon jetta tdi alternator regulator testing

I have checked fuse from alternator and pulley on alternator, is there any way to test the voltage regulator on the alternator?

When you have charging problems, on these cars the first thing you want to check is the clutched pulley on the alternator to make sure it is not slipping.................

A volt meter across the battery posts is the only way I know to test the regulator. You should get a reading of ~ 14volts.
