I have come into a BOSCH alternator in a box with the part number 120 489 559.
The metal tag that usually tells the amperage is not on the casing.
The box had a note written on it that said "Early Diesel"...Can anyone tell me what it fits?
It does not have a pulley either.

There are just too many to list....
The voltage regulator has the amperage printed on it on all the modern Bosch alternators.

What year/model/engine/transmission do you have?

OH, the alternator isn't for any of MY cars. I just have it.
The numbers are on the box which is a BOSCH box and it is ID'd as "Alternator" with those part numbers AND a hand written note that says "Early VW Diesel".
I think it is for a VERY early Diesel like maybe in the 80"s...maybe a Rabbit?
