The GTB2056VL is very cheap on ebay ;)

I think you should wait for a turbo between GTD1449VZ and GTD2060VZ ....maybe a GTD1756VZ? :p

that would be nice !!!
I need the Volvo 2065VL compressor housing...
a very cheap high mileage unit might be a good option...

next Wednesday it's back to stock injectors...
the car will be tuned to the stock 2056vzk, then we can see
what difference the modified turbo makes later on...

this was the dyno sheet from before with stock (cleaned) injectors,
a gtb2056vk, stock cams and 63mm exhaust into 2x 50mm to the TFSI rear silencers...

The turbo you received is an pre-series test mule turbo from test car.

The Kinugawa wheel looks nice. Hope it will fit....

Ah that is why the partnumber doesn't show up in etka...
I haven't noticed anything wrong with it...

my current turbo is the exact same thing...

Depending on what kind of tests the test car was used for the turbo can be in "as new" condition or have seen some serious abuse *gg*

Are you referencing the speed sensor?

If that wheel came from Alcaid, its not a Kinugawa wheel.

with the stock injectors...
+60Nm @1800rpm
+30Nm @2000rpm

same torque and powerlevel, less rpm's before fuel cut...

measured a BMW 525d gt2056v housing at VVT...
that has a backplate diameter of about 129mm...
the VZK has 135mm...
sure hope the VL housing will fit...

18'6" welded aluminum jetboat with pd160, gtb2056vl, and tuning by rub87, 2003 chev blazer with bhw swap, 2000 jetta alh with gtd1752 vrk, .240 injectors, 11mm pump, fmic, 6 spd manual
So what was the verdict? Did the billet wheel and VL comp housing fit the VZK?

nope.... not in any way...
the backplate is too big and cannot be machined as small because
of the oil connection block on the chra...
so it will probably end up that we will machine the VZK comp housing
to fit the billet wheel.....

So the billet wheel fit the VZK shaft but no luck on the comp housing. If I recall correctly the billet wheel has a smaller inducer(same as VL) than the VZK wheel. I would think that might be an issue with trying to machine the VZK cover to fit. Wouldn't you need to add some material in the inducer area rather than remove it to get the correct clearances?

I am thinking about machining the center out of the VL housing
and placing it in the VZK housing... so the curve for the wheel
and the inducer diameter matches again....

This procedure sounds interesting to fit the billet wheel from VL.

btw ... new turbo out there: GTD1752VRK ...ball bearing in GT17 not bad ;)

That sounds like it could work, only concern might be warpage from the welding process complicating matters. Curious as to why you are going to this much trouble to make the VZK work instead of just using the VL with the billet wheel. Is it just because of fitment issues or do you feel the VZK has a better flowing turbine?

vzk should have a better flowing turbine I guess...
but it is mainly because everything is already fitted...
putting a VL in would mean welding to the exhaust manifold,
adapting downpipe, making new oil lines...

I am not going to weld... just glue !

the idea to transplant the center of the VL housing into the VZK housing...

the VZK housing will get an extra step to make room for any excess
glue that exists when gluing the parts together...
