Safe to Cleaning VNT Ring with Soda Blaster?

Hi everyone,
Just curious, is it safe to clean the VNT turbo ring with a (baking) soda blaster?

I used it to take paint off of my aluminum rims and it worked well without etching.

I would be removing the ring, not spraying it still attached to the hot side.

Any input?

All part is made in hard metal, suppose the soda is very soft and dont worn surface.

Shouldn't hurt, I ultrasonically clean them in simple green. The stuff comes off very easily, brake cleaner works too.
