Has anyone seen the new VW commercials for their new 72/72 warranty?

VW must be having issues with their reputation. Or maybe they have been extending the warranty on so many cars with so many issues, they might as well just give it to the people upfront.

They probably figured they could sell more cars and have to give less discounts/rebates with the longer warranty. Maybe win some customers away from Hyundai / Kia.

I wonder how the Audi customers are feeling right now - Audi is sticking with their 4/50 plan.

I have not seen the commercials, but I did buy one of the cars with the 6yr./72k mile warranty. Time will tell how well it works.

Have Fun!

they will be happy to sell you one.

the standard warranty is about half that.

with longer warranty on drive train, and a pretty good rust through warranty.

....and one more thing

The 2018 6 year 72,000 miles warranty will-is driving the prices down on the old year end, 2017 VW stock still on the dealer lot.:rolleyes::p:D

Have ya seen the $5,000 -- $6,000 -- $7,600 price cuts?

Low end cars under $13,000 anyone?

I am liking my 11 year 162k mile warranty, with any disagreements as to coverage settled in my favor. ;)
Hi Lightflywer1

Glad you're happy with your 11 year - 162,000 miles warranty:D

IMO the transferable issue (and disagreements) will hold your car resale value for years.;)

.... as you well know I am as nutty as a fruit cake on my final decision.

fix -- BB

But at least I have more than 300 days to go

You must not have heard...

ALL 2018 Vw's have a new car bumper to bumper warranty for 6 years / 72,000 miles. This is the limited new car warranty.

This is not one of the extended warranties like you are thinking.

Aha. perhaps this is another reason the 2017s are marked down.

Just picked up a 2017, and the warranty is less.

dealer presented a sheet with lots of costly additional service and warranty packages.

.... a lot less.

... I see where the lowly (cheap) Jettas are less than $13,000

Old stock (2017) New Stock (2018) dieselgate & warranties

Old stock (2017) New Stock (2018) dieselgate & warranties issues.

Wonder if the 162,000 11 year "thing" has pushed VW to 'bout double the 36000 - 5 year limited warranty.

More to the point will the 72,000 become the flagship for VW?

Being on the fence regarding the BB vs FIX... and 300+ days to go...

.... at the bottom of my choice is a new 2017 Golf with 36K and 3 years.

Then at the top is a new 2018 Golf (or) the fix $$$$s and warranty.

Still no guess as to when the 2018 Golf show date will be

Grrrrrrrrrr

There are just too many to list....
When my wife and I picked up our new Passat, while the salesman was busy showing her how to work the sunvisors, I popped the dash fuse box cover off and reached in and yanked the DRL relay out.

He suddenly had this astonished look on his face. He asked "What are you doing???".

I handed him the relay and calmly said "Voiding my warranty. Here, you can keep this part.".

Hmmm, I don't frequent this board much, but weren't you pronouncing imminent VW bankruptcy a couple of years ago? BTW, VW stock price has appreciated around 60% over the last few years since the scandal .

imminent too strong --- worried for sure.

Keeping my 6,000 miles honey:D With the 11 year, 162,000 mile warranty. :)

Turned out good enough for me to trust the $8,000 fix and pass the $25,625 BB.

If I would have opted for the BB, I would replace it with a 2018 golf. But the base model does not offer DSG:mad:

Have no idea if VW is riding in the boat with the DOW 7,000 point run in the last 12 months.
