hello all, I got a 2001 golf 1.9tdi
about a couple weeks ago, on a very hot day the engine check light got ON.
after reading the codes using vag-com it concludes the folowings:
1 fault code:
controller 038906orcp
componont 1,91r4 edc g000sg2839
name 16492 - manifold/barometric pressure sensor g71/f96 signal too high

2 fault code:
controller 1j0 920 805l
component k0mbh wegfahrs boov51
name wegfahrs vw2620y 1821492 01176-key - 07-10 signal low - intermittent.

i would appreciatte if anyone could tell me abit more about theses two codes..
are they easy to change?

thank you all
t-

MAP sensors rarely fail. But maybe yours has. First I would look at wiring. On the 01 it is located at the top of the intercooler, behind the passenger headlight. It's danged hard to reach, but if you peer down at it with a flashlight, you can see it.

The second one is complaining about the battery in your key being low.

thank you weedeater ,

is this map sensor located inside of a small box under the Windshield called 'diesel direct fuel injection (dfi) engine control module'?
inside of this module theres two sensors, 1_ monifold absolute (map) sensor g71 and 2- barometric pressure (baro) sensor...
witch one is where? i'm afraid to get stuck in the middle of the job,,,
